Los Angeles Lakers Acquire Pau Gasol in Blockbuster Trade

Pau Gasol Traded to the Los Angeles Lakers

Kobe Bryant wanted to trade Andrew Bynum for Jason Kidd last season, but management didn’t want to get rid of their rising center. However, today they did get rid of their other big man, Kwame Brown in the NBA’s biggest trade of the year..

The Los Angeles Lakers traded Kwame Brown, rookie Javaris Crittenton and two draft picks for the Memphis Grizzlies’ All-Star, Pau Gasol. This couldn’t have been a better trade, it was a steal in fact.

This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, with Andrew Bynum out with an injury. 7-footer Gasol will play center for now and move into the power forward spot, allowing Lamar Odom to play his true small forward position.

If laker tickets were hard to get before, imagine it now. Who wouldn’t want to see this championship contender play?

Last year the Lakers sucked. After this trade, they don’t look too bad. But I will have to see how Gasol performs in the playoffs. He kind of always turned to Charmin in the playoffs with the Grizzlies. It will be interesting to see if Kobe can keep the fire lit in him.
