You always feel bad when you learn about an artist that has been around for a while. I had that same feeling when I learn about Jack Johnson in early 2005, when his best album, “In Between Dreams” came out. However, he had already came out with 2 other albums, and I felt so behind..
I have been a lot more diligent in being aware of when his albums come out, and I am patiently waiting for his 5th album to be released. “Sleep Through the Static” is coming out Tuesday, February 5th.
He is doing a few things different than his previous albums. I think he recorded his album is Los Angeles & Hawaii, rather than just Hawaii, like all his other ones. But I just learned that the album was recorded using 100% solar energy. How environmentally conscious is that?? It will also contain a lot of electric guitar work, rather than his more accustomed acoustic albums.
However, Jack Johnson’s new album won’t be a crazy departure from what everybody is used to. And people are saying it is going to be his best album ever.
